Data Collection
HorizonAI collects and stores the following information:
- Account information (email, name) for authentication
- Goals and tasks you create
- Task completion status
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely in Firebase (Google Cloud) and is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Third-Party Services
HorizonAI uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication and data storage. Firebase stores your account information (email, display name) and goal/task data. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- OpenAI — AI-powered task plan generation, detailed task guides, and AI coaching chat. See “AI Data Sharing” below for details on what data is sent.
- RevenueCat — subscription management. RevenueCat processes purchase data provided by the App Store to manage your subscription status. No personal data beyond your anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts is shared.
We do not sell your data to any third party. Data shared with the services above is used solely to provide app functionality.
AI Data Sharing
HorizonAI sends certain data to OpenAI (the company behind ChatGPT) to power its AI features. Before any data is sent, you are asked to provide explicit consent.
What data is sent to OpenAI:
- Goal descriptions you enter (e.g. “Learn to play guitar in 3 months”)
- Task titles and descriptions generated for your goals
- Messages you type in the AI Coach chat, along with recent conversation history
What is NOT sent to OpenAI:
- Your name, email address, or account credentials
- Your device information or IP address (from our app — OpenAI may log connection metadata per their own policy)
- Your payment or subscription information
OpenAI processes this data according to their API data usage policy. OpenAI provides the same or equivalent data protection as described in this privacy policy.
Data Usage
We use your data solely to provide the goal tracking, task management, and AI coaching features of HorizonAI. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Delete your account — You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly in the app via the user menu. This removes your authentication record, all goals, tasks, progress data, and metadata from our servers.
- Withdraw AI consent — You can withdraw consent for AI data sharing at any time by deleting your account.
